Why Choose Orthodontic Treatment Braces?

Orthodontic treatment is not only about enhancing your appearance; it can also effectively address potential health problems that come with misaligned teeth or jaw. Neglecting such orthodontic problems can lead to difficulties with chewing and digestion, speech impairments, and abnormal wear of tooth surfaces. Inadequate cleaning of teeth can result in tooth decay, gum disease, and even tooth loss, while excessive pressure on the gum tissue and the bone that supports the teeth can lead to complications like headaches, face pain, and neck pain over time.

To ensure optimal dental health, it is essential to seek orthodontic treatment promptly. The American Association of Orthodontics recommends children receive an orthodontic evaluation by age 7. However, orthodontic treatment with braces can be advantageous at any age.

Orthodontic Treatment Options

At Milestone Dentistry and Facial Aesthetics, we offer a variety of orthodontic treatment options to fit your needs and preferences, including:

Traditional metal braces

These are the most common type of braces and are made of high-grade stainless steel. They are very durable and effective at straightening teeth.

Clear and tooth-colored braces

These braces blend in with your teeth and are less noticeable than traditional metal braces.

Heat-activated wires

These are special wires that use your body heat to help move your teeth more quickly and require fewer adjustments.

This is a revolutionary way to straighten teeth using clear, retainer-type aligners that require no braces or wires.

Why You Should Consider Orthodontic Treatment Braces

Orthodontic treatment is important for both kids and adults. There are many reasons why someone may need orthodontic treatment, such as:

Our Orthodontic Treatment Process

Our orthodontic treatment involves three phases:
  • Planning Phase
The first couple of visits may include a medical and dental history evaluation, castings or “molds” of your teeth, computer-generated photographs of the head and neck that will aid in planning, photographs of your face and mouth, and X-rays of the teeth and jaws.
  • Active Phase
Active treatment involves visiting your orthodontist on a regular basis for adjustments and following specific treatment requirements to ensure successful treatment.
  • Retention Phase
When treatment is complete, the braces and/or appliances are removed, and a new appliance is made. These retainers are usually removable and will maintain the changes made to your teeth if worn continuously until the teeth and bone are stabilized in their new positions.
