Our Opalescence® Teeth Whitening treatment is a simple, non-invasive procedure that can be completed in just one office visit. The entire procedure, including the initial cleaning, usually takes less than 90 minutes. Here is how the procedure will be performed:

Thorough Cleaning

A thorough cleaning will remove debris from the surfaces of the teeth, ensuring that the whitening gel can effectively penetrate the enamel.
Photographs

Photographs will be taken to record the current color of the teeth. This will allow you to see the results of the treatment once it is completed.
Cheek Retractor

A cheek retractor will be inserted to expose the surfaces of key teeth.
Resin Application

A resin will be painted onto the gums to protect them from the whitening gel.

Whitening Gel Application

The first covering of Opalescence® whitening gel will be applied to the teeth for 15 minutes. The dentist will suction off the gel and check the whitening progress before applying more gel for 15 more minutes. This process will be repeated until the desired shade is achieved.
Rinse and Photographs

The mouth will be rinsed, and photographs of the color of the teeth post-treatment will be taken.
Optional Light Activation

If our dentist chooses to expedite the whitening process with a specialized light, the light will be applied for approximately 30 seconds per gel application.
